How is ALTEMIA taken?
ALTEMIA is about one teaspoon of a creamsicle flavored smoothie taken once every day.
Each box contains 30 individual packets of ALTEMIA Orange Crush Smoothie. Each packet is the equivalent of one teaspoon(5mL) and is designed for easy consumption once daily with or without food.
Without Food:
- Cut open packet along line
- Squeeze entire contents of packet into mouth and swallow.
With Food:
- Cut open packet along line
- Squeeze entire contents of packet into yogurt or pudding. Stir and enjoy.
Store at room temperature. Do not heat or freeze.
Note: ALTEMIA is not water soluble. Do not mix with a liquid beverage to consume. The product is formulated in a smoothie texture for easy consumption and should not be mixed with water or juice.
Altemia™ does not contain fructose, glucose, sucrose, lactose, gluten, tree nuts, or peanuts. People with known allergies to fish or eggs should consult with a physician or healthcare professional before using Altemia™.

ALTEMIA is a medical food product and must be used under physician or health care professional supervision.
Product Administration
For the dietary management of sickle cell disease, consume one 5ml packet daily, or as directed by a physician or health care professional. ALTEMIA may be taken with or without other foods. If patients forget to take the daily dose, they should take it as soon as they remember and then resume the normal schedule as directed by their physician or health care professional.
People shouldn’t take ALTEMIA with other omega-3 fatty acid dietary supplements. People under 70lbs should consult a health care provider to determine if a modified intake schedule is advisable.
People with known allergies to fish or eggs should consult with a physician or health care professional before using ALTEMIA.
Pregnant or lactating women should consult with a physician or healthcare professional before using this or any other medical food product.
Docosahexaenoic acid has been used in pediatric populations without any serious adverse events and is likely safe when used appropriately by patients under medical supervision. Children weighing under 70lbs should consult a health care provider to determine if a modified intake schedule is advisable. Docosahexaenoic acid triglyceride should not be used in preterm infants.
